The Magkaisa Filipino American Student & Parent Conference is an annual Sweetwater Union High School District event celebrating Filipino American History Month each October.
The annual conference is held at schools within the Sweetwater Union High School District, most recently at Southwestern College.
Breakfast is provided along with check-in in the morning and programming running through the afternoon.
Our conferences features a keynote speaker, workshops, lunch, and student performances, celebrating Filipino culture, students, and kapwa (shared identity/community).
Workshop topics have included college preparation, scholarships, financial aid, community involvement, and Filipino American history and contributions, alongside student-led sessions and performances representing different regional Philippine fiestas from across SUHSD schools.
